Stacey Lynn Brown was born and raised in Atlanta. She received a BA from Emory University in 1992 and an MFA from the University of Oregon in 1996.

Brown is the author of the book-length poem Cradle Song (C&R Press, 2009) and, with Oliver de la Paz, she coedited A Face to Meet the Faces: An Anthology of Contemporary Persona Poetry (University of Akron Press, 2012).

Brown has received awards and fellowships from The Poetry Center of Chicago and Southern Oregon State University, among others. Brown currently teaches at Indiana University in Bloomington. https://poets.org/poet/stacey-lynn-brown
