Mary Sutton earned a BA in Comparative Literature from Smith College and an MA in British and American Studies from the University of Bamberg and the University of Paris (formerly, Paris Diderot), where she was an ERASMUS Joint Degree student. Before joining the Academy, Mary was public humanities fellow at Library of America, where she worked with Kevin Young on African American Poetry: 250 Years of Struggle and Song and the book’s companion website. She also served for three years as poetry editor of West Trade Review.
