Atena Sherry is a freelance multimedia reporter and producer in South Florida. She has reported on major breaking news events and produced long-form documentaries, docuseries, and podcasts.

In her 6 years of freelancing, she has covered hurricanes, disasters, protests, elections, climate change, and criminal investigations. Her work can be found in New York Magazine, The Daily Beast, America Magazine, The Miami New Times, and more.

She has produced segments of two documentaries about climate change and sea-level rise for national television stations throughout Europe, including ARTE, RTS, RTBF, and NTR. In 2018, she spent five days in Panama City, Florida in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Michael field producing coverage of the disaster with a four-person crew.

Her deep knowledge of Florida's land, people, history, and politics allows her to tell compelling stories about issues and policies that matter. She prioritizes equity and fairness in her reporting.

Atena was born in Hong Kong and lived in Sweden and Washington, D.C. before moving to Miami in 2013
